This news from the Times Online. The timeline given by Google says they're on pace to start implementing the technology in September. What that means for you is that you'll lose that ability to post your "Lazy Sunday" videos faster than ever before. The MPAA and RIAA must be licking... [Full Story]

Google Pulling the Plug on Google Answers

After shriving on the vine for few years, Google decided to put Google Answers out to pasture. [metaphor alert] If you've never heard of it, Google Answers allowed people who wanted research done to post a question on-line and offer a bounty for the answer. When it started 4 years... [Full Story]

Google Code Search new, adds password-finding

Okay, so maybe that's a little unfair of a title, but it's getting old feeling sorry for dumb people who upload passwords. Yeah, people uploaded passwords to Google Code. Um, maybe I should explain. Today, Google Code added a search function. So, now, you can search all the code for... [Full Story]

Matt Cutts explains PageRank

Last week, I got asked what the big deal about PageRank changing was. I said it was because it only changes every few months. Turns out I was wrong, but I had no way of verifying one way or the other. Matt Cutts, the guy who works at Google, and... [Full Story]

Google is updating PageRank

Since Google doesn't like to announce what they're doing with their patented search technology, they don't tell us when they change the chief metric for figuring out how to rank your pages in search results. They call it PageRank, and it's incredibly important to rank high in it, as the... [Full Story]

Picasa Web Albums Now Online

Google has activated the Picasa Web Album feature. Haven't tried it out myself, but this functionality's addition to Picasa's flashy interface and solid integration with Blogger make it a pretty attractive package. This feature prematurely poked its head out a few days ago, so it's no big shocker.... [Full Story]

Google new offerings stiring up controversy

For once, the controversy isn't because they are ripping somebody else's idea off (though it might seem like they are aping Flikr). After Philipp Lenssen at Google Blogoscoped posted a screenshot at the Picassa website, the reaction came fast and furious: GOOGLE! STOP MAKING STUFF! Seriously, fellas, we're having a...
