In the new video game coming out for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, Soul Calibur IV includes cameos from two familiar Star Wars characters, Darth Vader and Yoda. If you purchase the Playstation 3, one can play as Darth Vader, but if you get the Xbox 360 version you will get to play as Yoda. Both versions will have the apprentice character from the new Star Wars video game, The Force Unleashed.
Other than the monotone announcer, the game looks pretty good. The graphics on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 look sharp and the movements of the characters are smooth.
Although, fighting Star Wars characters out of their element is pretty weird, but you get over the feeling after you use some of the cool moves to kill your opponent. Using the force and yielding a light saber are the tools of your trade in this game.
SCIV also features characters from past Soul Calibur games, but obviously they are updated and tweaked with new features.
Overall, Soul Calibur IV is a classic button masher with endless memorizing combos style of fighting game, but what draws me to buy this one is, of course, the Star Wars cameos and spectacular graphics. Beating your friends at the next party is not a bad perk either.
