Shocking: Cisco Sues Apple Over iPhone Name

Unless you've been in a cave, you expected Cisco to sue Apple today over its iPhone trademark. And while it looks like an open and shut case favoring Cisco. There is no way Apple is going to get away with claiming the name won't confuse people. But it might not be that simple.

So Cisco wins $20-30million from Apple but Apple gets to use the name for a few years. It's cheap at twice the price. Apple knows they are going to lose "legally" but that doesn't matter. Negotiations broke down so Apple is letting the courts finish the negotiations. It's all bidness.

If anything the a court case would be free advertising.
