Happy Fifth Birthday iPod!

October 23rd of 2001, the iPod was released to the world, and has grown to be the 800-pound-gorilla of the mp3 player market. This after starting as a Mac OS-only piece of hardware, and the ringing endorsement from /.

No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.

I still have my 5 GiB Rev. A, sitting on my desk right now. And yes, it still works.
