Google Code Search new, adds password-finding

Okay, so maybe that's a little unfair of a title, but it's getting old feeling sorry for dumb people who upload passwords. Yeah, people uploaded passwords to Google Code. Um, maybe I should explain.

Today, Google Code added a search function. So, now, you can search all the code for keywords, snippets, regular expressions, or, apparently, by database password.

All you have to do is look up the files where passwords are stored, say, in WordPress' wp-config.php. Not such a good thing if you're the one uploading your files. In fact, enterprising folks have looked for files like that for a while, now, and Google Code Search just made it easier.

For a list of other stupid Google Code Search tricks, head on over to kottke.org for the ever-growing list of things Google Code Search will find.

Also, I'd like to do some non-Google stuff this week, so, Google, if you're listening, STOP BEING INTERESTING!!! There, that'll work.
