It's like Christmas is August, except Verizon ain't giving nothing away.

Dell and Apple laptop owners have been waiting of this day for a while.

Downside- The thing costs 1/3 of what my Inspiron cost. $229 with a one year contract and $179 with a two year contract. That's the price to be the big dog on your block.

Apple OS X requires VZAccess 3.0. More info here.

Update: For those of you who might not get the significance of this, Apple, Dell and many other laptop makers are now shipping computers with ExpressCard slots instead of the old PCMCIA Cardbus that's been around forever. The problem was that the there was no EVDO solution for Expresscard. Or at least not from Verizon who really has the best EVDO coverage. This card is just a Novatel v640 but now it has that nice shiny Verizon logo on it and the support that comes with it.

If you have a newish laptop you might take the time now to figure out if that slot on the side is PCMCIA Cardbus or Expresscard.
