GoogleTube Video of the Day calls it quits

It pains me to see this, but Michael Martine says It's Been Fun..., but it's time to hang up his video posting ways:

Running this blog is becoming too much of a chore. I vowed to end it when it wasn't fun anymore, and today I realized that's where things stand. As a man of my word, I will follow through. My real job demands a great deal of my time, and feeding my family is more important than posting videos. This blog will not be handed over to anyone else to continue, but I'll leave it for the archives as sort of a blogger "death with dignity."

Thank you for visiting (especially you long-timers). Many people have sent me emails saying I have inspired them to start their own blogs. This blog was one of the early pioneers in grabbing videos from the new video services on the web; it started shortly after Google Video itself started. I've learned tons from the constant experimentation in blog design, ad placement, content choices, and in dealing with commenters. It's been an interesting ride. For the most part, it's been a lot of fun, but that is now waning, so it is time to bow out gracefully.

Like most people, I found GVOD from the Official Google Video Blog. If you've ever wondered, it's been a source for some of those insane videos you've seen pop up at Wizbang Pop! It'll definitely be missed.
