Google Marches On: Browser Synch

Google has released a browser synchronization plugin for Firefox. According to the plugin's README:

Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings - including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords - across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.

Maybe that'll take some of the sting out of yesterday's announcement that Microsoft is cutting synchronization out of Vista. Haven't tried it out myself, being a Safari user, but it looks grand.

Too bad it *sucks*. I have a 900K bookmarks file and a 36K cookies.txt file. That's too large an upload for the sync service. I disabled history and "Windows and tabs" (whatever the hell that is).

Utterly useless.
