6 mil players cant be wrong... (Below threshold)1. Posted by Steve | June 19, 2006 7:43 PM | Score: 0 (0 votes cast)
6 mil players cant be wrong. I play guildwars dont get me wrong. But in NO WAY is it better than Worldo of Warcraft.
This guildwars vs wow is getting out of hand. We all know its because some dont have the money to play WoW there for decide to slag it of and say guildwars is better to make sure they are playing the "kewl" game. Give up they are both good, but wow last lasted me a long while longer.

Look, you want to know why WoW has more players?
1. Unlike ArenaNet that has no legacy or past, no amazing lore or history, Blizzard is known as a legend, with top games, so of course people will try WoW with less suspicion than GW.
2. One is an MMO, the other isnt. WoW is said to be the "best" out there by the majority, so expect a @%@#load of people to get it. On the other hand, GW is a CORPG, not a MMO, and as such doesnt have the attractive title as an MMO.
3. WoW was released before GW, yes there was a time when WoW had 2 million players, which is what GW has now. Give it time.
4. Once again, 2 different games, 2 different genres. Comparing the 2 is unfair from the "numbers" perspective.
Anyways, I prefer GW, but WoW wins in replayability, although the only reason I played WoW for so long is because it takes so damn long to grind through the game.
Quality wise, GW wins(especially in PvP), Quantity wise, WoW wins.

1. They try WOW because of what they have heard from the 6 million people who play it. I have played both games, ALOT. I prefer WOW as do the other 6 million PAYING customers. If they didn't like it they would not be paying 15 dollars a month to play something that is crap.
2. If GW was soooo great don't you think that the 6 million people would of switched from the "damn long to grind" of WOW to GW?
3. I can GARUNTEE you that GW will never see 6 million players. It is free to play and yet 3x as many people play WOW.
4. I think it is pretty fair. It is not like comparing apples to oranges. It is like comparing how many apples are sold to how many oranges are sold and getting a ball park figure of who likes what better. Yes, they are diffrent things. Yes, you can like them both. But, if you are paying to play WOW and you don't like it. You are either and idiot or... and idiot.
Only reason you are defending it is because you think GW is a better game. I mean, I am being hypocritical; because I like WOW alot better. I admit that. But, you preaching of the greatness of GW just because you (Singular) didn't like WOW. Give me a break.
Quality wise, Wow is a better game. I agree with you about PVP though. I did like GW PVP a bit better. But, other than that it doesn't even compare to WOW.
